Calculates 24-hour crystalloid (Hartmann's/LR) resuscitation volume for burns >15% TBSA in adults. Half in first 8 hours, half in next 16.

Total volume (24h) = 4 mL x Weight (kg) x %TBSA
First 8 hours: give 50% of total (from time of injury)
Next 16 hours: give remaining 50%
Fluid: Lactated Ringer's (Hartmann's)
Children: add maintenance dextrose separately
When to use
- Burns >15% TBSA in adults, >10% in children
- Start from time of injury — account for pre-hospital delay
- Titrate to urine output 0.5–1.0 mL/kg/hr (adults)
- Avoid over-resuscitation — use urine output as primary guide
- Refer to burns centre if TBSA >10% adult, >5% child
